New Nautical Sweater

To ease the pain of the last day of the holidays, and because I hadn’t bought anything with my birthday money in Italy, I decided to buy this Polo Ralph Lauren nautical crewneck sweater, in a cotton-blend terry fabric. It fits me quite well, though I have to cuff the sleeves, which isn’t really a problem. The timeless and versatile design means it can be worn both with similar colors, as is the case here, or with louder and more “fun” pieces (salmon chinos, green shorts, madras shirts) and work just as well in either case. Today however, I decided to keep it simple and not too loud, as it is only April. Paired with a blue and white university stripe oxford, cream chinos, and grey-ish blue espadrilles (though it could have worked equally well, and perhaps better, with boat shoes or penny loafers, both of which I have yet to purchase), it creates a simple, casual, and very versatile look. A good purchase therefore, that will serve me well in the coming months.
